About Chicken Lou's

Humble Beginnings

Serving the Boston Community for Over 30 Years

Chicken Lou's® began in 1990 on Northeastern University's campus, founded by Lou Ferretti. For over 30 years, this tiny shack served sandwiches, breakfast, pizza, and wings to hungry students, faculty, and the Boston community. Known for its unique twist on popular menu items, Chicken Lou's® became a beloved local institution.

Favorites like the TKO™, Southwestern TKO™, Secs on the Border™, and TKO Wings™ drew customers back daily, often more than once a day! Operated by four generations of the Ferretti family, Chicken Lou's® announced its bittersweet plans for retirement in Fall 2019, with the permanent closure taking place in winter 2020.

The Ferretti family received an outpouring of love and support upon announcing their retirement. Messages, letters, and visitors from across the country came by to wish them well.

Determined to keep the legacy alive, Lou's son and granddaughters founded Chicken Lou's Distribution®, LLC. We are proud to continue the Chicken Lou's® name in a new way, bringing our most popular sauces and seasoning salts straight to your door.

Visit our Recipes section for original Chicken Lou's recipes and learn how to recreate the most beloved sandwiches from our little shack or explore creative ways to use our products.

We always love hearing about creative uses for our products. If you have a tried-and-true recipe, please share it with us! Or if you have a fond memory of visiting Chicken Lou's at Northeastern University, we'd love to hear from you!

Closing the restaurant was a difficult decision, but it paved the way for the Ferretti family to continue doing what they do best: producing quality products at a quality price. Enjoy!
